Description

Product Overview

A ceramic vacuum interrupter is a sealed switching component that places fixed and moving contacts inside a high-vacuum ceramic-and-metal enclosure. When the contacts separate, the vacuum chamber confines the arc and restores dielectric strength after current zero.

The component is installed in medium- and high-voltage circuit breakers, load switches and contactors used in substations, industrial distribution systems, mining equipment, motor control, transformer protection and capacitor-bank switching.

Core Advantages

Ceramic-to-metal vacuum enclosure

The high-alumina ceramic body and metal end seals keep the contact system isolated from external air. In switchgear exposed to temperature change and operating vibration, the sealed structure maintains the vacuum space required for arc extinction and dielectric recovery.

Copper-chromium contact system

Copper-chromium contacts distribute the vacuum arc across the contact surface during short-circuit interruption. Under repeated 20–40 kA fault operations, the contact system limits localized erosion and keeps the current path stable.

Voltage-class matching from 12 to 40.5 kV

The product range covers 12 kV, 24 kV and 40.5 kV equipment. During new switchgear design or replacement work, the interrupter can be matched to the specified voltage class, rated current, breaking current and mechanical interface without changing the complete power-distribution scheme.

Customization Capabilities

  • Rated voltage, rated current, short-circuit breaking current and operating frequency.
  • Ceramic diameter and length, fixed terminal, moving terminal and mounting dimensions.
  • Contact gap, contact stroke, bellows travel and operating-mechanism interface.
  • Contact material, shield arrangement, conductive path and internal contact structure.
  • Replacement development from a technical drawing, physical sample or existing supplier model.

Quality Control

Incoming component inspection

Ceramic bodies, contacts, shields, bellows, metal end parts and terminals are checked for dimensions, surface condition and assembly fit before the internal structure is built.

Vacuum sealing control

Contact alignment, shield position, bellows movement and ceramic-to-metal joints are fixed before furnace processing. The sealed assembly is processed in the confirmed furnace route because the internal structure cannot be adjusted after evacuation and sealing.

Electrical and final inspection

Completed units are checked for insulation structure, contact condition, conductive path, terminal position, mounting interface and model identification. Every unit is inspected before packing, and third-party inspection is accepted.

Why Choose Us

Electro-vacuum manufacturing since 1966

Wanping has produced electro-vacuum devices for more than 50 years. The factory covers over 20,000 square metres and operates with 98 employees and an in-house engineering team.

Dedicated vacuum-processing equipment

Twelve vacuum furnaces and eight post-assembly processing systems are used for ceramic-and-metal sealed components, vacuum processing, ageing and stabilization.

Production controlled by exact model

Contacts, bellows, terminals, ceramic dimensions and mounting interfaces are assigned by the confirmed model and drawing. The approved specification remains the production basis for samples and repeat orders.

FAQ

Q: What is the MOQ for ceramic vacuum interrupters?

A: The MOQ starts from one piece. Different models can be combined in one shipment after the quantities and packing layout are confirmed.

Q: How long does a custom sample take?

A: Custom sample development takes 40–60 days from specification confirmation to completed electrical inspection.

Q: What should be checked before installation?

A: Inspect the ceramic body for cracks, the metal ends for deformation and the moving stem for bending. Confirm the specified contact stroke and operating force before connecting the interrupter to the mechanism.

Q: How should the interrupter be stored?

A: Store it in a dry indoor area, keep the moving stem unloaded and protect the ceramic body from impact. Do not stack unpacked interrupters directly on their terminals.
