Product Overview

A high voltage interrupter is a ceramic vacuum arc-extinguishing chamber for high-voltage circuit breakers and switching devices. Its fixed and moving contacts operate inside a sealed vacuum enclosure, allowing the device to interrupt load current and short-circuit current without an externally exposed arc.

The interrupter is used in 12 kV, 24 kV and 40.5 kV switchgear for substations, industrial and mining distribution, rail power systems, metallurgical equipment and high-voltage motor control.

Core Advantages

Interruption up to 50 kA

The product range covers short-circuit breaking levels from 20 kA to 50 kA. In high-voltage feeder and transformer faults, the vacuum contact system confines the arc and completes interruption inside the ceramic enclosure.

Copper-chromium contacts with controlled chopping current

The copper-chromium contact material supports arc diffusion while limiting current chopping. During switching of transformers, motors and inductive circuits, this reduces the overvoltage stress created by premature current interruption.

Ceramic insulation for 12–40.5 kV equipment

The high-alumina ceramic body separates the internal current path from the external mounting structure. In switchgear with restricted phase spacing, the sealed ceramic body provides the insulation barrier without oil-filled arc chambers.

Customization Capabilities

  • Rated voltage, rated current and short-circuit breaking level.
  • Ceramic dimensions, terminal size and mounting interface.
  • Contact material, contact shape, shield layout and conductive path.
  • Contact gap, stroke, bellows travel and operating force.
  • Replacement models for fixed, drawout and equipment-specific high-voltage breakers.

Quality Control

High-voltage component inspection

Ceramic bodies, copper-chromium contacts, bellows, shields and terminals are inspected for dimensions, surface defects and assembly compatibility before sealing.

Vacuum furnace processing

The complete internal contact system is positioned before the one-time sealing and evacuation process. Ceramic-to-metal joints and terminal alignment are controlled through the model-specific furnace route.

Insulation and batch release

Finished interrupters are checked for insulation structure, contact movement, current path, terminal position and enclosure condition. Every unit is inspected before packing and linked to its batch record.

Why Choose Us

Nearly six decades in electro-vacuum devices

Wanping's parent company was established in August 1966 and has continued manufacturing sealed electro-vacuum products for power-control applications.

Vacuum processing and post-treatment in one factory

Twelve vacuum furnaces and eight post-assembly systems cover sealing, evacuation, ageing and stabilization of the interrupter body.

Engineering for replacement and new designs

High-voltage interrupters can be developed from an existing model, technical drawing, physical sample or target ratings and installation requirements.

FAQ

Q: What is the custom sample lead time?

A: A custom high-voltage interrupter sample takes 40–60 days after the electrical and mechanical specification is fixed.

Q: How is the product packed for international shipping?

A: Each interrupter is immobilized with shock-absorbing material, protected around the ceramic body and terminals, and packed in an export carton or wooden case according to shipment size.

Q: How should the operating mechanism be adjusted?

A: Set the mechanism to the specified contact gap, stroke and contact pressure. Excessive over-travel loads the bellows, while insufficient travel prevents full contact separation.

Q: Can the product be used at a different voltage from its nameplate?

A: No. The interrupter must be used at the rated voltage and breaking duty stated for the selected model and matched switchgear.
